Peter Olkhovets

I'm studying computer science, data science, and economics at MIT. I build self-improving growth engines for a living, and electric motorcycles for fun.

GatherGrowth Engineering Intern

I build the machine that does growth. I run a self-improving GTM engine and the tools around it, steering more than $10k of ad spend a day and testing my way into new channels.

The builds
  • A self-improving GTM engine that sources accounts, frames the pitch, and learns from what converts.
  • An email outbound engine that researches a list, finds the angle, and sequences the sends.
  • A LinkedIn ad creator: brief in, on-brand variants out, tuned to each audience.
  • A ChatGPT ad-creative generator that concepts and iterates against a goal.
  • A use-case finder that surfaces the pain points specific to a target company.
  • Slack bots that drop a sharp brief before every meeting.

MIT FutureTechResearch Assistant

Research on how AI is reshaping productivity across capital and labor markets, plus the statistics and data plumbing behind the findings.

The work
  • Led the data analysis on AI productivity in capital and labor markets.
  • Multivariable statistics, predictive models, and large-scale data engineering.
  • Owned data prep, code flow, and GitHub Actions for the lab repository.

First Manhattan Co.Wealth Management Intern

Equity research on public tech and cybersecurity names, turned into ranked calls the team could actually act on.

The work
  • Analyzed public technology and cybersecurity companies using financial and sector data.
  • Produced ranked investment summaries used in internal research discussions.
  • Built reusable analysis templates so the next dataset started further along.

RegeneronHigh School Mentorship Program

Two years and 560 hours in cancer genomics (40 of 1,400 picked), living in Python and R on real sequencing data.

The work
  • Cancer-genomics analysis in the Molecular Profiling and Data Science department.
  • Heavy Python and R on large RNA and DNA sequencing datasets.
  • Multiple presentations to internal groups and fellow students.

RSM Math SchoolTutor

Taught math to more than a hundred students, Pre-K through 12th grade, and got good at explaining hard things simply.

The work
  • Private lessons to 100+ students across every grade level.
  • Assisted teachers with lectures and supervised group sessions.
  • Frequent parent communication, praised for clarity and effectiveness.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology

B.S. candidate in Computer Science, Data Science, and Economics.

Coursework and campus
  • Math for Computer Science, Probability and Random Variables, Microeconomics.
  • Varsity Football, Offensive Tackle.
  • Elected Delta Kappa Epsilon Pledge Class President; Entrepreneurship Club.

Rye High School

4.0 GPA, 790 SAT Math.

Coursework and honors
  • AP Calculus BC a year above grade level, plus AP Physics, Statistics, Macroeconomics, Chemistry, and Robotics.
  • Class Treasurer four years running, Math Department Award, National Merit Commended Student.
  • Two-time Rye Recognition of Excellence, NYS Football Champion 2023, National Science Bowl.

Electric Motorcycle

A 70 mph electric motorcycle I built from a bare frame, completely silent.

The build
  • Sourced and assembled the frame, tires, battery, power controller, and a 5 kW motor.
  • Same instinct as the software: take it apart, understand every system, put it back together better.

WESEF, 4th place

Fourth out of 800 in Computational Biology, presenting my Regeneron genomics work on somatic variants in interferon signaling genes across tumors.

Tri-County Science Fair

“Identifying Aberrant Signaling Pathways in Cancer.”

Somers Science Fair

“Historical Implications of Quantum Computing.”

Joy Distenfeld Fund Stipend
